Q. What makes our Face SPF 50+ Everyday Sunscreen Fluid different from our Hydra UV Protect SPF 50+ Face Fluid?
A. Face SPF 50+ Everyday Sunscreen Fluid expands our best-selling Everyday Suncare range, delivering up to 72 hours of hydration in an ultra-lightweight fluid suitable for daily wear, alone or under makeup.
Hydra UV Protect SPF 50+ Face Fluid offers a similar lightweight texture but is infused with ethically sourced algae for added hydration benefits.

Q. How do I apply this product?
A. Apply Face SPF 50+ Everyday Sunscreen Fluid liberally and evenly to all unprotected areas of the face 20 minutes before sun exposure.

Q. Can I wear this product under makeup?
A. Absolutely. Face SPF 50+ Everyday Sunscreen Fluid is ultra-lightweight and absorbs quickly, making it ideal for layering under makeup as part of your daily routine.

Q. What are UVA and UVB rays?
A. Ultraviolet A (UVA) rays are present all day, year-round. Even on cloudy days, UVA can penetrate the dermis (the middle layer of skin) and contribute to premature ageing and wrinkles. UVA rays can also penetrate glass.

Ultraviolet B (UVB) rays are more intense in sunny conditions and primarily affect the outer layer of skin (epidermis). UVB exposure is associated with sunburn and has been strongly linked to certain skin cancers.

Q. How often should I reapply?
A. Sunscreen should be applied liberally and evenly 20 minutes before sun exposure and reapplied every two hours, or more frequently when sweating, swimming, exercising or towel drying.

As sunscreen wears off throughout the day, additional sun protection measures such as wearing a hat, sunglasses and protective clothing, and seeking shade where possible, are also recommended.

Q. What is SPF?
A. SPF or ‘Sun Protection Factor’ is a rating that refers to a theoretical amount of time you can stay in the sun and be protected without getting burned, compared to unprotected skin. For example, SPF 50 theoretically allows you to stay in the sun with less risk of sunburn for fifty times longer than you would without sunscreen. But real life is not like a lab, and you still need to reapply your sunscreen every two hours, avoid direct sunlight as much as possible and to make sure that you're protected. Direct sun exposure can change the texture and elasticity in your skin, which can contribute to premature skin aging like wrinkles.

A. All Bondi Sands SPF products undergo rigorous testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. We work closely with our manufacturing and testing partners to substantiate all claims, including validated SPF, very high sun protection and water-resistant testing where applicable.

Q. What’s the difference between chemical and physical (mineral) sunscreens?
A. Chemical sunscreens absorb into the skin and work by absorbing UVA and UVB rays and converting them into a small amount of heat. They are typically lightweight, fast absorbing and leave no white cast. Bondi Sands Face SPF 50+ Everyday Sunscreen Fluid is an example of a chemical sunscreen.

Physical (mineral) sunscreens sit on top of the skin and reflect and scatter UV rays. They are formulated with mineral filters such as zinc oxide. While some mineral sunscreens can feel thicker or leave a white cast, Bondi Sands Sunny Daze is formulated with a lightweight texture and a tint to help it blend into the skin. Please note the tint is not universal and may not suit all skin tones. In these cases, Face SPF 50+ Everyday Sunscreen Fluid may be a preferred option.

Q. If I wear SPF 50, am I fully protected from the sun?
A. No. Sunscreen acts as a protective screen, not a complete block, and does not provide 100% protection from UV radiation.

Q. Should SPF be worn daily?
A. Yes. Sunscreen should be worn daily, even during colder months or on cloudy days, as UV rays can still penetrate clouds and damage the skin. Applying SPF should be an essential step in your morning skincare routine. Bondi Sands face sunscreens are fast absorbing with an invisible finish, making them ideal for everyday wear under makeup.

Q. Can chemical and physical sunscreens be worn under makeup?
A. Yes. Both chemical and physical Bondi Sands sunscreens are formulated to be lightweight and suitable for use under makeup. Sunscreen should always be applied as the final step in your skincare routine.
